At Sixes And Sevens
… In the middle of the open area,
they set a table up and about 12 gnomes were sitting around it. Two seats were
vacant, one at the head of the table and one beside it. Andy sat at the head of
the table and I took the chair on his left side. One of the young women started
serving the food. I thought to myself that this was a very magical pla…….
I woke up cold and wet. I was lying
in a muddy puddle on the side of the path. My head hurt and I heard a voice
coming from behind me.
“You OK buddy?” asked a man.
I pulled my face out of the mud and
turned my head to see who was talking.
A paramedic was standing next to me.
“What happened?” I asked.
“Take it easy. We have to check your
injuries. No sudden moves please,” he said.
The paramedic cleaned the mud from my
face and head and then checked my arms and legs. I broke my right leg midway
between the knee and the ankle. My right arm was caked in mud and a severe gash
was turning the mud a dirty red.
The paramedics carefully turned me on
my back and put me on a gurney and wheeled me out of the park. I lost
consciousness a few minutes into the bumpy journey.
I woke up several hours later
in a hospital bed. I had a splint on my right leg and they bandaged my right
arm from the wrist to the elbow.
A nurse walked in as I was surveying
the damage to my body. She took one look at me and abruptly turned around and
walked out again. A minute later, she came back with a doctor. …
